30 March 2022 Dear fellow EAHK Members, In light of the current COVID-19 pandemic situation in Hong Kong and to safeguard the health and safety of each and every of our member, the EAHK Committee considers it prudent to defer the AGM, which was scheduled to take place in March 2022. We have therefore decided to hold the AGM this year at a later date before 30 June 2022 when the COVID situation is stabilized and the Government’s COVID health and safety measures are relaxed. We will give at least 2 weeks’ notice to you in accordance with the requirements of the Constitution. In view of the postponement of this year’s AGM, it would mean the new Committee for 2022-2024 cannot be formed at this point in time. By virtue of the power vested on the Committee in accordance with Clause 14 of the Constitution, the current Committee may decide to continue to serve the Chapter until the new Committee is elected at the AGM. This is a pragmatic approach otherwise the operations of the Chapter will come to a sudden halt on 31 March 2022 when the term of service of the current Committee comes to an end. The Committee has agreed to continue to serve the members after this date up to the election of a new Committee at the next AGM. I hope you can appreciate that this is a right decision at the present difficult time. Please let us or other Committee members know if you have any questions on this matter. Stay safe and stay well, Sincerely, Dr Alex Cheung FIEAust President of EAHK (2021-2022) Bosco SO MIEAust Deputy President of EAHK (2021-2022) On behalf of EAHK Committee (2021-2022)
